The Xinjiang Flying Tigers have replaced Jarnell Stokes with John Groover in their roster for upcoming Chinese Basketball Association games, the league announced on Thursday night.

The ace duo of Stokes and Ian Clark are in the U.S. and unable to return to China due to COVID-19-related travel restrictions, forcing Xinjiang to use an all-domestic squad.

Groover is a guard who once played for Eidsvoll Oslo in Norway's premier basketball league, averaging 28 points, 6.1 rebounds and 6.2 assists in the 2015-2016 season.

The 33-year-old, who has lived in Shanxi Province for four years, primarily plays in the country's wildball tournaments.

The veteran is expected to provide cover when point guard Zeng Lingxu is rotated out of the lineup.
