Xinjiang smash Jiangsu as regular season concludes

The Xinjiang Flying Tigers crushed the Jiangsu Dragons 110-70 in the last round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) regular season on Monday to take their third straight victory.

Zhou Qi finished with 23 points and 14 rebounds, Xiralijan Muhtar got 17 points, and Fan Ziming collected 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Liu Yuxuan had a team-high 20 points for Jiangsu. Zhao Shuaizhou notched 12 points.

"Our problems and weaknesses have been exposed in the regular season. We will work on them and go all out in the playoffs," said Xinjiang coach Adiljan.

"We had lots of problems and troubles during the season like injured players, but this is not an excuse. I am not satisfied with the result, and I hope we can do better in the future," said Memi Becirovic, coach of Jiangsu.

The Tianjin Pioneers dragged the game into overtime before overcoming the Guangzhou Loong Lions 118-110.

Shi Deshuai had 35 points and 11 rebounds for Tianjin. He Siyu scored 23. Meng Zikai added 14. Five players scored in double figures for Guangzhou, led by Chen Yingjun's 26 points and eight assists.

Powered by Ren Junwei's 32 points and 12 rebounds, the Shanxi Loongs defeated the Zhejiang Lions 107-100. Ge Zhaobao notched 17 points for Shanxi.

On the Zhejiang side, Sun Minghui and Hu Jinqiu each bagged 25 points. Zhao Yanhao contributed 14 points, and Li Jinxiao collected 12 points.

In the other two games, the Qingdao Eagles beat the Jilin Northeast Tigers 99-80, and the Shenzhen Aviators defeated the Zhejiang Golden Bulls 107-96.

The CBA playoffs will commence on Friday, with teams ranking 5th to 12th in contention for four quarterfinal spots while the regular season's top four finishers enjoy a bye to the second round.
