The Beijing Royal Fighters edged the Jilin Northeast Tigers 108-106 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) playoffs here on Saturday to become the eighth and final team to make the quarterfinals.

With four players scoring double digits, Jilin built a 58-51 lead in the first half.

Launching a 6-0 run in the third quarter, Jilin enlarged the gap to 10 points. Then Kyle Fogg took center stage to contribute 13 points as Beijing moved past Jilin 77-75 at the end of the quarter.

After Dai Huaibo buried two three-pointers, Jilin erased a 10-point difference to take the lead. Fogg led Beijing to regain a 108-106 lead with 27 seconds on the clock.

Dai missed a buzzer-beater to see the Royal Fighters cheer for their victory.

Fogg finished with a game-high 39 points and eight assists, Sun Yue collected 18 points, and Arnett Moultrie added 14 points and 16 rebounds. They will next face the Xinjiang Flying Tigers.

"All of our guys showed a lot of hard work on the court and had the determination to win the game, and they came all out until the end," said Beijing coach Stephon Marbury.

Sean Hill led the Jilin side with 21 points, while Jiang Yuxing had 19 points, Dai got 18 points, and Li An notched 10 points and 12 rebounds.

"We didn't deal with some key shots well in the last quarter. Parts of our offense were too simple and unclear," rued Jilin coach Wang Han.
