World Winter Sports (Beijing) Expo, one of eight major events of the upcoming China International Fair for Trade in Service, is expected to attract over 500 exhibitors, including 50% from overseas.

Themed with "Power of Ice and Snow," the World Winter Sports Expo covers various events including forums, exhibitions, business matchmaking, and other major activities.

This year's expo will carry on its characteristics of internationalization, industrialization, and popularization. It will underline preparation work of the Beijing Olympic Winter Games and hold international exchange of winter sports resources, thus fostering the winter sports industry in China.

The expo will also emphasize the essential role of the winter sports industry in global service trade, and promote the integrated development of international sports, technologies, culture and tourism, and the healthcare industry.

The World Winter Sports Expo covers an area of 16,000 square meters and has two exhibition areas, according to Fu Xiaohui, director of the Beijing Olympic City Development Center.

One is the China National Convention Center comprehensive exhibition, which focuses on the preparation work of the 2022 Winter Olympics, as well as the latest technology and services in winter sports and international cooperation. Another exhibition will be held at the southern side of Linglong Tower, mainly presenting services and technologies related to public participation in winter sports, Fu said.

Meanwhile, the expo will hold more than 20 international forums, conferences, and negotiation and trade fairs, and it has invited over 260 speakers to attend, Fu added.

Zhang Li, vice president of International Data Corporation (IDC) China, said that the expo would drive international communication in winter sports, boost the winter sports industry and enrich public experience.
