Former Swiss national football team captain Stephan Lichtsteiner has announced his retirement from playing, the 36-year-old defender confirmed on Wednesday.
Having started his professional career at Swiss club Grasshopper, Lichtsteiner played for Lille and Lazio before moving to Juventus in the summer of 2011.
In a hugely productive stint with the Old Lady, Lichtsteiner won seven consecutive Serie A titles and played in the Champions League finals of 2015 and 2017.
Lichtsteiner then joined Arsenal in 2018 as a free agent, followed by a move to Bundesliga side Augsburg one year later.
At international level, Lichtsteiner was capped 108 times for Switzerland, and featured at three FIFA World Cups and two European Championships.
