Beijing Guoan continued their winless run in the 2020 Chinese Super League on Thursday after playing out a 2-2 draw against Shijiazhuang Ever Bright in a topsy-turvy thriller.

Guoan entered Thursday's game off the back of one draw and one defeat, while Ever Bright had registered their first win after six matches.

Guoan broke the deadlock in the 24th minute as Jin Taiyan burst down the left and squared for Alan Douglas to tap in from close range.

Ever Bright got back on level terms 10 minutes later, as Brazil's Muriqui shook off the Guoan defense to place a low shot into the far corner.

Guoan were dealt a blow in the 40th minute as goalkeeper Guo Quanbo was sent off for bringing down Matheus Nascimento outside the box, meaning the capital side had to sacrifice Alan in order to bring on substitute goalkeeper Hou Sen.

Ever Bright took the lead in the 64th minute when Stoppila Sunzu steered his header into the net.

However, Cedric Bakambu saved Guoan when the hitman won a penalty in the 73rd minute and stepped up to convert it himself.

The other match played in Suzhou on Thursday saw Hebei China Fortune edge Qingdao Huanghai 2-1 to make it three wins from three.

Hebei dominated from the off, and Ren Hang's 13th minute volley forced Qingdao goalkeeper Liu Zhenli into a good save.

Eight minutes later, Yin Hongbo's long pass was punched out of the box by Liu, preventing Buya Turay from giving Hebei the lead.

In the 28th minute, Pan Ximing finally put Hebei ahead after Wang Qiuming's powerful shot deflected off him and into the net.

Wang Fei could have equalized for Qingdao before the break, but could only shoot over the bar after a Hebei clearance fell his way.

Qingdao coach Wu Jingui introduced Romain Alessandrini and Zhu Jianrong for the second half, and the move paid dividends in the 64th minute, when Zhu scored after collecting Alessandrini's pass.

However, Hebei were back in the lead just 10 minutes later, when Samir Memisevic's long-range volley found the net.

Alessandrini's evening soon turned sour, as the Frenchman saw red in the 78th minute for his unsportsmanlike reaction to Liu's tackle.

Hebei defender Zhang Chengdong was also sent off in the game's dying moments, but Qingdao failed to find another equalizer before the final whistle.

After Thursday's matches, Shanghai SIPG now rank first in the CSL's Suzhou division with 17 points, with Guoan sitting second with 14 points. Although Wuhan Zall still occupy third position with 12 points, Hebei are now just one point further adrift.
