Organizers of the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games unveiled an animated official emblem for the games on Tuesday.

"We are a city of dreamers, creators and game-changers. It's time we made our mark," the LA28 organizing committee wrote on various social media platforms.

Anchored with a bold and static L, 2 and 8, the LA28 emblem allows for an exceptional spectrum of stories with an interchanging dynamic "A". To celebrate the launch of the emblem, more than 20 individuals brought their personal stories to life through an artistic "A".

Over the next eight years, LA28 will be a story written with the community, according to the organizers.

"Built for the digital age, the animated emblem is designed to evolve over time, reflecting the city's spirit of limitless possibility," the organizing committee said in a statement, noting that the emblem illustrates the strength of LA's diversity and represents a collection of voices, rather than a singular monument or landmark.

"LA defies a singular identity. There is no one way to represent Los Angeles," said LA28 Chairperson Casey Wasserman in the statement.

"Every neighborhood, every block, every person has their own unique identity and story of LA. The LA28 Games will showcase our community's collective creativity and celebrate the diversity that makes us strong," Wasserman added.

"Los Angeles is an infinite canvas that represents millions of people and hundreds of languages," said LA28 Chief Marketing Officer Amy Gleeson. "No one mark could ever express all that Los Angeles and the Games represent. The best way to showcase the LA28 Games is by asking the community to share in the creation."

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced in Lima, Peru on September 13, 2017, that Paris will hold the 2024 Olympic Games and gave 2028 to Los Angeles. The IOC decision has made both the two cities three-time Summer Olympics hosts as Paris hosted the games in 1900 and 1924 and Los Angeles hosted the games in 1932 and 1984.
