Beijing Guoan was held to a 2-2 draw with Wuhan Zall on Sunday in the ninth round of the ongoing 2020 Chinese Super League (CSL) while Tianjin Teda remained as the only CSL side that failed to reap its first win of the season.

Teda that played in Beijing's neighboring city Tianjin, failed to snatch a win in the league after a 2-1 defeat against Chongqing Dangdai Lifan for its seventh consecutive loss.

Beijing gained the upper hand at the beginning of the match, seeing Cedric Bakambu break the deadlock for the title favorites in the 23rd minute after collecting Zhang Yuning's long pass through a close range volley shot.

Before the half break, Zhang enlarged made it two for Beijing from a powerful shot after beating Wuhan's offside trap. He could have netted the third during the first half, but his shot was denied by the post.

Leo Baptistao pulled one back for Wuhan in the 67th minute through a header. Two minutes later, Jean Kouassi also made his header to level up the two sides, after receiving debutant Dong Xuesheng's pass.

Both sides then created few chances to take one point apiece following the thrilling four-goal draw.

Wuhan's 23-year-old bench goalkeeper Wang Zhifeng kept a clean sheet in the second half, and might become a start in the future together with Dong, who joined Wuhan from Hebei China Fortune.

After the game, Beijing sits the second in Suzhou division, with Shanghai SIPG dominating the bellwether position. Wuhan ranks third, trailing Beijing by two points.

In the other Group B game here on Sunday, Alan Kardec and Adrian Mierzejewski brought Chongqing Dangdai Lifan a 2-0 lead in the first half. After Hui Jiakang narrowed the gap to one in the 62nd minute for Teda, Felix Bastian's penalty was denied by Chongqing goalkeeper Deng Xiaofei in the 85th minute.

In the Suzhou Division, Teda sits at the bottom, while Chongqing ranks sixth.
