After over 300 days of waiting, China's second-tier league, the Chinese Football League A kicked off in Chengdu on Saturday.
Around 800 fans witnessed the opening ceremony and the opening match. Newly promoted Chengdu Xingcheng Habitat beat Beijing Renhe 3-2 to bag a winning start.
According to the Chinese Football Association (CFA), league A was divided into three groups in three cities: Chengdu; Changzhou; and Meizhou.
In other matches, Guizhou Hengfeng drew 1-1 with Zhejiang Energy Greentown, and Changchun Yatai edged Heilongjiang Lava Spring 2-1.
China's top tier league, the Chinese Super League kicked off in July after a long delay for COVID-19. All the players, coaches, club staff and media representatives had tested negative since the start of the 2020 season.
