China's top snooker player Ding Junhui and his compatriot Yan Bingtao both reached the quarterfinals at the European Masters in Milton Keynes, England on Friday.

Yan, 20, faced his fourth-round opponent Aaron Hill after the 18-year-old had stunned six-time world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan earlier in the draw, but only managed to claim one frame against Yan, who ranks 15th in the world.

After winning the match 5-1, Yan now faces Martin Gould.

World number 12 Ding shared the opening four frames with Mark Allen, but took the following three in a row to seal a 5-2 win.

Ding now faces a quarterfinal against three-time world champion Mark Selby.

World number one Judd Trump will take on Kyren Wilson, while Australia's Neil Robertson meets Shaun Murphy.
