Mark Selby reached the final at the Snooker European Masters after defeating China's top player Ding Junhui and compatriot Shaun Murphy in Milton Keynes, England on Friday.

The three-time world champion will face Martin Gould in Sunday's final, after the world number 53 stunned world number one Judd Trump 6-3 in the other semifinal.

Selby had smashed Ding 5-1 in the quarterfinal before defeating Murphy 6-3 to reach his 27th career ranking final.

Gould, 39, edged 20-year-old Chinese hopeful Yan Bingtao 5-4 to set up a semifinal clash with Trump, where he took three frames in a row after the scores were tied at 3-3 to knock out the top seed.

Gould's only previous ranking event win was at the 2016 German Masters.
