Real Madrid will be without German midfielder Tony Kroos for their next two league games after it was confirmed that the 30-year-old has suffered a muscle injury in his left gluteus maximus.

The injury will sideline Kroos for Wednesday night's La Liga game at home to Valladolid in the Alfredo Di Stefan Stadium and also and for next Sunday's visit to play Levante in Valencia.

The coming weekend is then followed by a break for international matches and it is not yet certain whether Kroos will be able to participate in Germany's forthcoming games against Turkey, the Ukraine and Switzerland, although he should be fit for when Real Madrid entertain Cadiz in La Liga on October 18.

Kroos has started both of Real Madrid's La Liga fixtures this season, although his loss has been in part compensated for by the return of Marco Asensio and Eden Hazard to full training, while Isco returned after injury as a second half substitute in Saturday's 3-2 win away to Betis.
