China unveils 28-man squad for World Cup qualifiers

The Chinese Football Association (CFA) has announced a 28-man squad on Tuesday to prepare for FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with two naturalized players Jiang Guangtai and Fei Nanduo being selected for the first time.

British-born defender Jiang Guangtai, whose English name is Tyias Browning and Brazilian-born striker Fei Nanduo, Fernando, both play for Guangzhou Evergrande. The Chinese Super League defending champions have six players called up to the national team.

Head coach Li Tie and his team will assemble for a five-day training camp in Shanghai starting from October 4. Star striker Wu Lei, who plays for Espanol in Spain, will not participate in the camp.

2022 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers, which scheduled to kick off in October and December, have all been postponed to the year of 2021.

The following is the 28-man roster:

Goalkeepers: Yan Junling (Shanghai SIPG), Dong Chunyu(Wuhan Zall), Liu Dianzuo (Guangzhou Evergrande), Zeng Cheng(Shanghai Shenhua);

Defenders: Zhang Linpeng (Guangzhou Evergrande), Jiang Guangtai (Guangzhou Evergrande), Yu Dabao (Beijing Guoan), Li Lei (Beijing Guoan), Li Ang (Jiangsu Suning), Liu Yun (Wuhan Zall), Tong Lei (Dalian Pro), Jiang Zhipeng (Shenzhen Jiazhaoye), Tang Miao (Guangzhou R&F), Zhu Chenjie (Shanghai Shenhua), Wang Shenchao (Shanghai SIPG);

Midfielders: Wu Xi (Jiangsu Suning), Chi Zhongguo (Beijing Guoan), Li Ke (Beijing Guoan), Hao Junmin (Shandong Luneng), Jin Jingdao (Shandong Luneng), Ming Tian(Wuhan Zall);

Forwards: Ai Kesen (Guangzhou Evergrande), Wei Shihao (Guangzhou Evergrande), Fei Nanduo (Guangzhou Evergrande), Zhang Yuning (Beijing Guoan), Dong Xuesheng (Wuhan Zall), Liu Binbin (Shandong Luneng), Guo Tianyu (Shandong Luneng).
