Wuhan Chedu Jianghan University and Jiangsu Suning advanced to the final of the 2020 Chinese Football Association (CFA) Women's Super League on Tuesday after beating Beijing BG Development and Shanghai RCB respectively.

Wuhan and Jiangsu were placed second and third in the league's championship group before Tuesday's third-round matches, and both teams needed to secure their place in the top two after this round to reach the league final.

In the match between Wuhan and Beijing, Beatriz Zaneratto Joao gave Wuhan an early 1-0 lead as she stole the ball from a Beijing defender and hit the ball into the net in the 3rd minute. Wang Xinxin helped Wuhan extend the lead in the 14th minute as she lobbed a pass that flew straight into the net, catching the keeper off guard.

Han Peng's direct corner goal in the 47th minute and Temwa Chawinga's goal in the 81st minute helped Wuhan secure a 4-0 victory, despite a missed penalty by Beatriz Zaneratto Joao in the 78th minute.

Thanks to the third-round win, Wuhan moved atop the championship group standings with six points.

Jiangsu played a more aggressive game in Tuesday's faceoff with Shanghai, which had led the championship group before the third round. In the 70th minute, Wu Chengshu received a pass from the left side and rifled an effort into the net, helping Jiangsu gain a 1-0 lead.

Shanghai's hope of leveling the game was shattered as Barbra Banda's shot in the 87th minute hit the woodwork and bounced off.

Jiangsu were placed second in the group after the third round.

Wuhan and Jiangsu will vie for the league championship on this Sunday.
