Fiorentina loanee Pedro struck late as defending champion Flamengo continued its resurgent run of form with a 2-1 home win over Goias in Brazil's Serie A championship on Tuesday.
Vinicius Lopes opened the scoring for Goias at the Maracana stadium, sweeping in a first-time shot after being set up by Daniel Villalva.
Pedro equalized just before halftime when he latched on to a Bruno Henrique cross from the left side of the penalty area and fired home at the far post.
The 23-year-old broke the deadlock in the 96th minute with a cool finish after Willian Arao's long-range effort was deflected. Pedro has now netted eight times in 13 Serie A appearances this season.
After a shaky start to the season under new manager Domenec Torrent, Flamengo has won four consecutive matches and is level on points with leader Atletico Mineiro, who has a game in hand.
Goias is at the foot of the 20-team standings, with just two wins from 13 matches.
