China's Zhou Yuelong and Lu Ning both reached the semifinals at the UK Snooker Championship on Friday after beating higher-ranked opponents.
World number 25 Zhou outplayed veteran John Higgins in the previous round and kept his momentum by defeating world number 16 Jack Lisowski 6-4.
Zhou's compatriot Lu, who is the 40th on the world ranking, ousted world number 19 Joe Perry with the same scoreline to reach the semifinals of a ranking event for the second time in his career.
The 22-year-old Zhou will meet Neil Robertson in the semifinal as the Australian ace knocked out three-time world champion Mark Selby 6-2.
"It's not good for me to play Neil," Zhou told the World Snooker Tour website. "Both times we played before I have lost. But everyone has their first time and hopefully this will be mine. I am confident, I believe I can win."
Lu, 26, will fight for a final berth against world number one Judd Trump.
Defending champion Ding Junhui of China was knocked out of the tournament by Englishman David Grace 6-5 in the second round.
