The final six of the Chinese Women's Volleyball League have been completed here on Monday, as Tianjin advanced with a convincing victory while the other traditional elite, Beijing, was eliminated.
Tianjin topped Group C with another straight-set win as the defending champion dominated Guangdong 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-22). Yet, Guangdong also made it to the final six after finishing third in the group.
Spikers Li Yingying and Zhu Ting provided 17 and 16 points respectively while middle blocker Wang Yuanyuan bagged 12 for Tianjin.
Liaoning advanced as the runner-up of the group after beating Zhejiang 3-1 (26-24, 24-26, 25-14, 25-16).
Jiangsu led Group D with a perfect record after conquering Beijing 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-23). Beijing, the champion of 2018-2019 season, is out of the race for the title.
Despite a 3-0 defeat to Shanghai, Shandong joined Shanghai in the final six as the third placer of Group D while Shanghai placed second.
Also on Monday, Henan beat Fujian 3-0, and Yunnan defeated Hebei 3-0.
