Belgium has ended 2020 as the world's best men's team according to the year-end rankings published by global football governing body FIFA.

The Red Devils, who finish the year on 1,780 points followed by World Cup winner France second on 1,755 and Brazil third on 1,743, have retained the honor for the third consecutive year.

The only change in the top five compared to 2019 is Portugal, which ranks 5th place.

Next in the rankings are Spain (6th) and Argentina (7th), both of which have improved two places compared to last year. Uruguay (8th), Mexico (9th) and Italy round out the top 10.

The team with the best progress in 2020 was Hungary who rose 12 spots to 40th en route to qualifying for the delayed Euro 2020 via the play-offs.

Japan is the best in Asia at 27th. China moved one spot up to 76th.
