6.2 seconds! Rafael Leao took the center-stage of AC Milan's 2-1 away victory over Sassuolo on Sunday, as the Portuguese broke the all-time Serie A record for the fastest goal.

It was a spectacular start, as Calhanoglu surged forward after kick-off, threading through for Leao to drill home.

The previous record was held by Piacenza striker Paolo Poggi, who scored after 8 seconds in 2001.

Milan's lead on the table shrank to one point after a back-to-back 2-2 draw. With Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ante Rebic injured, Leao started as a makeshift center-forward, with Hakan Calhanoglu behind him.

The Rossoneri should have made it 2-0 as Calhanoglu turned in on the edge of the box, but it was canceled as Alexis Saelemaekers was offside in the build-up.

The away side scored the second in the 26th minute through a counter-attack as Theo Hernandez sprinted from his own half to pull back for Saelemaekers to tap-in undisturbed.

Sassuolo pulled one goal back in the dying minutes when Domenico Berardi's free-kick deflected off Jens Petter Hauge to go beyond a helpless Gianluigi Donnarumma.

It was a good day for both Milan-based teams as Inter Milan beat Spezia 2-1 at San Siro.

Inter failed to break the newly-promoted until the 51st minute when Achraf Hakimi went clear on the right to drill home from a tight angle.

The Nerazzurri extended the lead in the 69th minute when Stefano Sensi earned a penalty for Lomelu Lukaku to convert.

Roberto Piccoli scored for Spezia deep into the stoppages, but it was too late.

Atalanta climbed out of an early hole to crush Roma 4-1. Edin Dzeko gave the Giallorossi an early lead, but the Dea staged a second-half show to claim a strong comeback.

Elsewhere, Ciro Immobile scored one and set up another for Luis Alberto, helping Lazio conquer Napoli 2-0.

On Sunday, Torino tied with Bologna 1-1, Cagliari shared spoils with Udinese at 1-1, Benevento dominated Genoa 2-0.
