Beijing trounces Shanghai, Sichuan downs Tianjin

The Beijing Royal Fighters smashed the Shanghai Sharks 122-96, while the Sichuan Blue Whales defeated the Tianjin Pioneers 108-99 in the 2020-21 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) in Zhuji on Saturday.

Beijing and Shanghai traded leads several times until Joseph Yang and Yu Changdong made their 3-pointers to help Beijing establish a 33-30 advantage in the first quarter.

Beijing then had a 12-2 scoring run to start the second quarter, broke ahead 74-49 for its biggest first half points in the season, and sealed the win without much difficulties.

In the other game on Saturday, Sichuan rallied from 47-39 down at half time to beat Tianjin as three of its players made more than 20 points each for the victory.
