Real Madrid on Thursday confirmed they have reached a deal to loan striker Luka Jovic to Eintracht Frankfurt until the end of the current season.

The move sees the 23-year-old Serbian international return to the club Real Madrid paid 60 million euros for in the summer of 2019.

Since then he has scored just two goals in a total of 32 appearances in a time which has also suffered some injury problems as well as suffering from the coronavirus.

Jovic joined Real Madrid after netting 36 goals from Eintracht Frankfurt in two seasons and Real Madrid clearly hopes he can rediscover his confidence. The move does pose a problem for Zinedine Zidane, who now only has Mariano Diaz as a specialized striker to provide backup to Karim Benzema after the club loaned Borja Mayoral (who Zidane apparently wanted to keep) to Roma early in the season.
