Lester Hudson notched a near triple-double of 24 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists to help the Shandong Heroes thrash the Jiangsu Dragons 111-73 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Wednesday.
With his scoring in the game, Hudson has accumulated a total of 11,842 points in 419 games, which surpassed the previous mark of 11,839 points set up by Chinese star player Yi Jianlian, becoming the CBA all-time leading scorer.
"It means a lot to me, especially when I have played in the league and stayed healthy for 10 years, and this is a very good league with many great players," said the 36-year-old guard, who joined the CBA in 2011 and has won two titles with Guangdong and Liaoning respectively.
After Jiangsu built an eight-point lead in the first quarter, Hudson's 12 points in the second period guided Shandong to control the rhythm and keep pummeling their opponents, turning the game into a rout in the second half.
Shandong held Jiangsu to mere 31 percent shooting and 22 turnovers. Chen Peidong contributed 21 points to Shandong's victory. Shi Hongfei of Jiangsu posted a team-high 15 points.
