Marcus Denmon's free throw with just 1.8 seconds left gave the Shanghai Sharks a 108-106 victory over the Nanjing Monkey Kings in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Wednesday.

Coming off the bench, Denmon scored a game-high 37 points for Shanghai, while Zong Zan and Liu Zheng added 16 and 12 points respectively.

Arnett Moultrie led Nanjing with 31 points and Shirelijan Muxtar had 24 points.

Shirelijan and Moultrie combined for 43 points, giving Nanjing an 83-76 lead in the first three quarters.

Denmon tied it at 87-all with a free throw and Zhang Chunjun's jumper with 7:32 minutes left gave the Sharks their second lead of the night since Zong Zan hit a jumper after the tip-off.

Liu Zheng's two free throws gave Shanghai a four-point advantage before Nanjing fought back with a 7-0 run to make it 98-95 with 3:16 minutes on the clock.

Then the lead went seesaw between the two sides.

Shanghai retook the lead after Denmon made both free throws to make it 107-103 with only four seconds left.

Shirelijan knocked down a 3-pointer with 1.8 seconds on the clock and Denmon missed a free throw, leaving Nanjing with a 1.6 seconds chance to come back.

However, Denmon stole the ball from Moultrie at the end to ensure Shanghai a narrow victory.
