World number one Judd Trump retained his title at the German Snooker Masters after sweeping Jack Lisowski 9-2 in the final on Sunday.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was held behind closed doors in Milton Keynes, England, rather than in Germany.

Trump, 31, dominated the opening session with a lead of 7-1 and showed no sign of decline after the break as he claimed his fourth ranking title this season with a scoreline of 9-2.

"I'm enjoying my snooker. Whenever you win, you are always going to enjoy it," Trump told the World Snooker Tour website. "It is just important for me to keep doing the right things. I've not stopped practicing hard. I've kept up that momentum."

Both Trump and Lisowski were forced to withdraw from the Masters earlier this month after returning positive COVID-19 tests ahead of their first-round matches.

"It was obviously tough for me and Jack to both miss the Masters. It was nice that we both got to the final in this one," said Trump with 21 ranking titles in hand.

John Higgins was the latest victim of COVID-19 on the world snooker tour as the veteran withdrew from this tournament due to a positive test. The four-time world champion lost to Chinese debutant Yan Bingtao in the final at the Masters two weeks ago.
