Australian Open

For the Australian Open 2021, it's better late than never.

The first Grand Slam of the tennis season gets underway in Melbourne, Australia on Feb. 7, running through Feb. 21, when the men's final will bring the tournament to a close.

The tournament's schedule is subject to change, with the event already starting three weeks later than usual due to the ongoing pandemic.

Date: February 7-21

Place: Melbourne

FIFA Club World Cup

The eyes of the soccer world will be on Qatar this week with the start of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Bayern Munich are one of only four teams with a 100 per cent winning record in the FIFA Club World Cup.

The tournament kicks off on Thursday with 2020 AFC Champions League winners Ulsan Hyundai FC facing CONCACAF Champions League winners Tigres UANL from Mexico.

Thursday's opening clash will be followed by CAF Champions League winners Al Ahly SC of Egypt playing Qatari champions Al Duhail SC.
