Manchester City saw their lead at the top of the Premier League extended to 12 points this weekend as they continued their record-breaking winning run, while Manchester United was held to a 0-0 draw at Chelsea and Leicester City crashed at home to Arsenal.

Chelsea and Manchester United played out a tactical, but eventually boring game on Sunday, in which neither team was able to break down their rival's defense to create clear chances to win the game.

The result means Chelsea have not conceded a goal in any of their four home games since Thomas Tuchel took charge and have shipped just two goals in their nine matches under the German.

Leicester City's bad week continued as they followed Thursday's exit from the Europa League with a 3-1 home defeat to Arsenal which stopped them from overtaking United.

Leicester opened the scoring in the sixth minute through Youri Tielemans, but Arsenal hit back with a goal from David Luiz in the 39th minute after Willian's free-kick.

Alexander Lacazette put them in front with a penalty in first-half injury time after a handball in the Leicester penalty area and Willian was again the provider for Nicolas Pepe to add a third in the 52nd minute.

Saturday saw Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola make history as his side continued their winning run to the Premier League title thanks to goals from central defenders Ruben Dias and John Stones.

It was City's 20th consecutive win in all competitions, as well as Guardiola's 500th victory in charge of a top-flight club and his 200th win as Manchester City coach for which he needed just 273 games in charge.

Tottenham enjoyed their easiest day in the league for a long time as Gareth Bale continued his return to his best form in a 4-0 thumping of Burnley, whom Jose Mourinho has beaten 11 times in 11 meetings as a coach.

Bale opened the scoring in the second minute and then teed up Harry Kane for Spurs' second after 15 minutes.

The game was as good as over when Lucas Moura made it 3-0 on the half-hour and Bale highlighted his current form with a second goal 10 minutes after the break.

Liverpool ended a run of four consecutive defeats with a 2-0 win away to Sheffield United, who have now lost 21 consecutive games this season.

Curtis Jones put Liverpool ahead in the 48th minute with a shot into the corner from an Alexander-Arnold cross. Kean Bryan then deflected Roberto Firmino's shot into his own net to double Liverpool's lead.

Newcastle took a point from a 1-1 draw at home to Wolves, although Steve Bruce's side will be disappointed to not take all three points after Jamaal Lascelles' 52nd-minute opener was canceled out by Ruben Neves' header in the 74th minute.

Bruce's side also suffered injuries to key attackers Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin to add to the absence of top scorer Callum Wilson.

Fulham missed the chance to close the gap on Newcastle as they were held to a 0-0 draw away to Crystal Palace, who has goalkeeper Vicente Guaita to thank for a series of excellent saves to keep Fulham at bay.

Brighton hit two penalties against the woodwork as they complicated their Premier League future with a 1-0 defeat away to West Brom, who took the points thanks to an 11th minute Bartley goal.

Anwar El Ghazi's fifth-minute goal gave Aston Villa, who were still without Jack Grealish, a 1-0 win away to a flat-looking Leeds United.
