Alexis Sanchez made the most out of his rare start for Inter Milan as the Chilean bagged a brace, helping the Nerazzurri win 2-1 away to Parma on Thursday.

Inter made the trip with a relatively full squad, while the hosts missed Gervinho, Andreas Cornelius and Andrea Conti.

After a goalless first-half, Inter went ahead in the 54th minute with a stroke of luck, as Gaston Grugman's clearance turned into an assist for Sanchez to drill home.

Inter doubled the lead minutes later when Romelu Lukaku surged forward and drew defenders, before crossing for Sanchez to finish with a low strike.

Despite Hernani's goal in the 72nd minute, Parma was powerless to turn the game around.

The win, coupled with AC Milan's draw on Wednesday, sees Inter lead the table with 59 points, sitting six points over the second-placed Rossoneri.
