New York Knicks guard Derrick Rose acknowledged for the first time that he and members of his family tested positive this month for COVID-19, calling it like the flu "times 10," local media reported on Tuesday.
Rose, who hasn't played since Feb. 28, said he's struggling with COVID-19 and it was unlike any illness he'd ever experienced.
"I felt all of the symptoms, sick and everything. But I'm happy to be back and that's in the past," Rose said. "It was completely different. They say everybody is different, but with me, I never felt anything like that before."
"I've had the flu. It was nothing like the flu. It was that times 10. So like I said, slowly getting back, I'm progressing every day and just trying to get back in the swing of things."
Rose indicated that his family members also contracted the virus.
"Yeah, it just sucks, where you feel everything, your body is sore, headaches, all that," Rose said. "The kids weren't too bad, they had fevers, runny noses, and a bad cough. COVID thing, I know a lot of people overlook it, but it's very serious. It's real."
