Curling competitions of Experience Beijing, a test program for the Winter Olympics, officially opened on Thursday in the National Aquatics Center, also known as the Ice Cube. On the first day of the event, athletes and coaches gave praise to the facilities and services at the center.

"The facilities and services in the Ice Cube are the best in my experience," curling athlete Qiao Bozong said. "The ice surface is world class, very smooth." He added that the anti-epidemic measures were meticulous.

Meng Xu, the head coach of a participating curling team, said it was a good opportunity for the team to participate in the test program and accumulate experience. The conditions of curling venues may affect the performance of athletes, and the venue has done a good job in this regard, Meng said.

The Ice Cube also invited journalists and tested four functional areas for the media. The staff and volunteers are well-trained about media knowledge, according to attendees.

The test program will host 60 competitions, including the curling competitions from April 1 to 6 and the wheelchair curling competitions from April 9 to 10. A total number of 32 teams and more than 80 athletes will attend the competitions.
