Zhejiang Golden Bulls guard Cheng Shuaipeng will miss the rest of the CBA season after fracturing the fifth metatarsal on his right foot.

Cheng got injured in the final quarter of Saturday's game against the Zhejiang Lions and had to leave the court. His injury was later confirmed by a local hospital in Zhuji, Zhejiang Province.

The Golden Bulls announced through social media that Cheng is expected to be out for three months. This rehab timetable means that Cheng will miss all remaining matches this season, which will end on May 1 at the latest.

In a statement, the Zhejiang club wished Cheng a speedy recovery and a return to the court as soon as possible, and also expressed their gratitude towards fans' concern about the club and Cheng.

"We will face up to potential difficulties ahead, and show our fearlessness in the upcoming campaign to strive for a higher goal," read the statement.

Cheng has averaged 8.4 points, 3 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 43 appearances this season.

The Golden Bulls are still waiting for the return of Wu Qian and Lu Wenbo, who suffered injuries against the Guangdong Southern Tigers on March 29. The club said the duo would require five to seven days for recovery before resuming normal training.

The Golden Bulls rank third in the 2020-21 CBA table with a 38-10 win-loss record.
