Nearly 40 representatives from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and its member states, observer states, and dialogue partners, led by SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov, attended an event themed on the Beijing Winter Olympics on Thursday in Beijing's Yanqing district.

Co-organized by SCO institutions, the Beijing municipal government, the Yanqing district government, and China Intercontinental Communication Center, the two-day event aimed to welcome the successful opening of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and show foreigners the charms of the city.

The guests were invited to visit the Beijing Expo Park, where they watched the performances of dragon dance and other China's intangible culture heritage and toured the ongoing exhibitions of the Beijing International Garden Festival. They also observed the training of short track speed skating athletes in a skating center.
