Borussia Dortmund gave away a two-goal lead, but Jadon Sancho's late winner stunned Leipzig and crowned Bayern in the 32nd round in Bundesliga on Saturday.

The BVB ensured a perfect start on home soil as Thorgan Hazard's backheel lay-up inside the box allowed team captain Marco Reus to break the deadlock into the roof of the net with only seven minutes played.

Leipzig grew into the game as the clock ticked but for all that Julian Nagelsmann's men lacked in penetration and were unable to threaten Dortmund's well-positioned defense.

Meanwhile, Dortmund remained dangerous although Hazard and Sancho missed chances to extend the advantage before the break.

After the break, Leipzig started promising into the second half as Marcel Sabitzer tested Leipzig goalkeeper Roman Burki with a long-range attempt in the 47th minute.

However, the goals were scored at the other end of the pitch as a wide-open Sancho had enough space to slot home for a 2-0 lead into the far post corner with 51 minutes played.

Leipzig kept it bowling and was rewarded at the hour mark when Emil Forsberg's pinpoint cross found Lukas Klostermann, who nodded home to halve the deficit. Six minutes later Dani Olmo should have made it 2-2, but the Spaniard hit only the side netting.

Olmo remained in the thick of things as he eventually restored parity with 77 minutes played after tapping home Hee-Chan Hwang's good build-up work.

It was a short-lived joy for Leipzig though, as Sancho and Raphael Guerreiro exchanged passes inside the box before Sancho poked home the 3-2 winner into the open goal with three minutes remaining.

With the result, Borussia Dortmund climbs back into the top four with an eye on a UEFA Champions League berth whereas second-placed Leipzig lost its chance to dethrone front runners Bayern with two rounds to spare.

Elsewhere, last-placed Schalke squandered a 2-0 advantage and was soundly beaten 4-2 by Hoffenheim.

Wolfsburg cemented its third place in the standings after easing 3-0 past Union Berlin courtesy of Josip Brekalo's hat trick and Werder Bremen shared the spoils with Bayer Leverkusen following a goalless draw.
