Goalkeeper Mike Maignan has completed his transfer from LOSC Lille to AC Milan, the Rossoneri announced on Thursday.
Having came from the youth academy of Paris Saint-Germain, the shot-stopper moved to Lille in 2015, making 180 appearances over six seasons and winning the the French Ligue 1 title in the season just ended. The 25-year-old also won a spot in the 26-man squad of France for the Euro 2020.
"AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of French player Mike Maignan from LOSC Lille, who will be joining the Club starting from 1 July 2021. The goalkeeper has signed a contract with the Rossoneri until 30 June 2026 and will wear the number 16 jersey," read a statement.
Maignan's arrival is widely considered as a replacement for Gianluigi Donnarumma whose contract is due to expire this summer. Milan's technical director Paolo Maldini has confirmed the Italian international's departure earlier.
