A young Spain side enjoyed a comfortable 4-0 win against Lithuania on Tuesday night in what under normal circumstances would have been their last warm-up game ahead of the European Championships.

Sergio Busquets's positive COVID-19 test on Sunday meant the squad, due to face Sweden in Seville on July 14th, is currently in isolation, which meant the Spain Under-21 team took their places in Leganes earned full international caps into the bargain.

It meant that a record 16 players made their debut for Spain in one single game.

The only player in the starting 11 who had previously played for the full national team was Sevilla winger Bryan Gil although others such as Oscar Mingueza, Brahim Diaz, Hugo Guillamon and Marc Cucurella all had plenty of top-flight experience.

Guillamon needed just four minutes to put Spain ahead as he took advantage of a poor clearance from a corner to fire home from around 10 meters.

The Spanish youngsters wasted no time in showing they were technically superior to their rivals as they moved the ball around comfortably.

In the 23rd-minute, Brahim doubled their lead with a smart finish across the face of the goal after an excellent pass from Gonzalo Villar.

It should have been 3-0 in the 29th minute after Bryan Gil was hauled down, but Abel Ruiz's weak penalty was comfortably saved by Lithuanian keeper, Svedkauskas, who also denied Mingueza shortly afterward as Spain continued to dominate.

Betis left-back Juan Miranda was one of two halftime substitutes and he scored a free-kick less than 10 minutes after coming on to make it 3-0, with the ball taking a slight deflection on its way past Svedkauskas.

Javi Puado, who had just come into the game, made it 4-0 after being allowed way too much time in the Lithuania penalty area with 20 minutes left to play.

Some of the squad from Tuesday's game will now be called on to train in the headquarters of the Spanish Football Federation to provide cover in case any more players in the full squad test positive for COVID-19 before the last day Spain coach Luis Enrique can make any changes on June 12th
