Beijing's Winter Olympic Parkway is scheduled to complete its construction at the end of September, according to an office serving the Winter Games.

The parkway is located in the city's Shijingshan district and links the organizing committee of the Winter Games and the Shougang Big Air.

It has a length of 9.6 kilometers, two sculptures of emblems for the Winter Olympic Games and the Winter Paralympic Games, 10 scenic spots, and 7,100 square meters of footpath for runners.

Along the parkway are several gardens, some newly built and some still being renovated. They provide professional-grade footpaths for runners, and benches for pedestrians to rest.

Covering 28,000 square meters and decorated with the Winter Olympic style, the Bajiao Park was renovated from a morning market. It is free to enter and popular among citizens.

The park recorded as many as 8,000 visitors a day since its opening in June, according to a person in charge of the Bajiao subdistrict.

Before the parkway's opening in late September, it will complete work on lighting, landscape improvements, as well as reforestation and renovations of its surrounding areas.
