2021 UEFA Super Cup

The UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea, and Europa League winners Villarreal, will go head-to-head in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday. This one-off match will give the teams yet another chance to win a piece of European silverware this year, and both sides intend to win. 

Predicted line-ups:

Chelsea (3-4-2-1): Mendy; Zouma, Thiago Silva, Rüdiger; James, Kanté, Kovačić, Alonso; Havertz, Ziyech: Wernerh

Villarreal (4-4-2): Asenjo; Gaspar, Mandi, Albiol, Pedraza; Manu Trigueros, Manu Morlanes, Foyth, Yéremi; Gerard, Fer Niño

Brentford vs. Arsenal

Just 82 days after Manchester City lifted the Premier League trophy, the new season dawns with newly promoted Brentford bringing up the curtain on their first top flight season since 1947 at home to Arsenal.

The Gunners head into the 2021/22 Premier League campaign looking to improve on one of their most disappointing seasons in recent years, but they face a tough start coming up against Brentford, Chelsea and Manchester City first.

Borussia Mönchengladbach vs. Bayern Munich

The 2021/22 campaign starts with a bang with two of the most successful clubs in Bundesliga history getting the ball rolling on what promises to be yet another exciting, action-packed season.

Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayern Munich enjoy one of the Bundesliga's defining rivalries, sharing the Meisterschale in nine consecutive seasons during the 1970s. And while it may have been 41 years since the Foals last lifted the title, they will be keen to hit the ground running under Adi Hütter at Borussia-Park on August 13 .
