The Yanqing competition zone of the 2022 Winter Olympics has been fully prepared for the upcoming games.

According to the construction and operation teams, all construction work on the stadiums has been finished, and accommodations, medical services, transportation, and general facilities are ready to go.

The construction and acceptance of its two competition venues – the National Alpine Skiing Center and the National Sliding Center – finished on July 23. Athletes will compete for 21 Winter Olympic gold medals and 30 Winter Paralympic gold medals at these venues.

In addition, the construction of all ropeways of the National Alpine Skiing Center for the Winter Olympics has been completed. With a length of over 10 kilometers, the ropeways can carry a maximum of 3,200 people per hour. Going from the Winter Olympic Village to the mountaintop will take merely 30 minutes.

The construction of the Winter Olympic Village was completed last year. With a total construction area of 118,000 square meters, it will provide 1,686 beds in 571 rooms for Winter Olympic athletes and team officials, and 683 beds in 247 rooms for Winter Paralympic athletes and team officials, among which 79 are wheelchair accessible rooms.

The competition zone has also reached agreement with 15 hotels to offer accommodation during the event. Furthermore, it has renovated and supplemented its weather-monitoring facilities, set up a dedicated medical team for the event comprising medical staff from municipal and district-level hospitals, and upgraded its various transportation services.

Meanwhile, the high-speed railway station, the district-level hospital, and approximately 200 bus stops in Yanqing district have completed renovations to become barrier-free.
