Experts and entrepreneurs as well as financial professionals gathered at a forum in northwestern Beijing's Yanqing district and explored way of promoting winter sports, sports tourism and sports finance.
Yanqing's Vice Governor Ye Dahua hoped the forum and financial support could help boost the high-quality development of local ice and snow industry.
Yanqing, one of the three locations to host events at the 2022 Winter Olympics, has witnessed rapid growth of ice and snow industry after Beijing won the right to host the Games. A sports industry chain of equipment, training, athletics rehabilitation and sports live casts has forged in Yanqing.
The district has lured more than 300 sports enterprise to settle in Yanqing. In addition, it has held over 100 large-scale sports events in recent two years.
"Yanqing will expand the ski area to 1.22 million square meters in the future to serve more skiers," said Ye.
