The Winter Olympic Park in western Beijing recently opened to public.

The park, located in Shijingshan district, covers an area of 1,142 hectares, and incorporates green spaces along the Yongding River which run through the city's southwest.

Following the completion of the park, Beijing now has a brand-new marathon route of 42 kilometers that does not intersect with public roads. It passes through the 2022 Winter Olympic venue of Shougang Ski Jumping Platform, and has sections of 2 kilometers, 10 kilometers, and 21 kilometers for shorter running distances.

In addition, the park features a variety of photo-ready locations throughout, including the New Shougang Bridge. Olympic-themed sculptures collected from all around the world will also be exhibited in the park.

Shijingshan district has integrated and upgraded a group of parks, including Lianshihu Park and Yongding River Recreation Forest Park, to build the Beijing Winter Olympic Park, as part of the city's efforts to improve ecological construction.
