Beijing 2022 update

The Speed Skating China Open kicked off at the National Speed Skating Oval on Oct. 8. This is the first international competition of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games' test events, which will evaluate all operational aspects of the Games across the three competition zones – Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou – before the winter sports extravaganza begins next February.

Badminton's world men's and women's team championships, which was postponed in 2020, will get underway in Denmark on Oct. 9.

Spain vs France - UEFA Nations League final

The second edition of the Nations League will come to a close on Oct. 10. Luis Enrique's Spain and Didier Deschamp's France face off in what is set to be a thrilling contest at the San Siro. Spain defeated Italy 2-1 on Wednesday while France enjoyed a comeback from two goals down, knocking out Belgium 3-2, with a last-minute goal from Theo Hernandez the following day.
