1. Curtain falls on first Beijing 2022 test event

The Speed Skating China Open, the first international competition of the Beijing 2022 test series, concluded on Sunday with all the elements of the Games being tested.

The three-day competition witnessed athletes from China, the Netherlands and South Korea competing in 12 events at the National Speed Skating Oval, known as the "Ice Ribbon," and won praise for its strict pandemic prevention and control measures, first-class competition facilities as well as organization.

2. Tests underway at Capital Gymnasium

The three-day competition of the Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy 2021, the second event of the Beijing 2022 test series, kicked off on Thursday at the Capital Gymnasium in Beijing.

A total of 32 figure skaters from China, Japan, South Korea, Finland, Switzerland, Germany, Latvia, along with China's Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei are competing for the Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy 2021.

The Capital Gymnasium will be the venue for figure skating and short track speed skating at Beijing 2022. During the Games, the Capital Gymnasium will be one of the most-watched venues for domestic fans, as China has several world top-class athletes in figure skating and short track speed skating.

3. Beijing 2022 vows to deliver successful test events

On Monday, Beijing 2022 organizers held a press conference in which they promised to deliver a successful and safe testing program.

As part of the "Experience Beijing" testing program for the upcoming Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, a series of international competitions including the Asia Figure Skating Open and the Short Track Speed Skating World Cup, as well as a domestic ice hockey program, will take place in Beijing in mid-October.
