After losing two finals in both Tokyo Olympics and China's National Games, the world's top mixed doubles shuttlers Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong have targeted the top of the podium at Paris 2024.

"We are fighting for our long-term goal, to do better in the Olympic Games in Pairs," Zheng said in a recent interview.

Zheng and Huang were upset by compatriots Wang Yilyu/Huang Dongping in the final of Tokyo Games and defeated in another final one and a half months later by the same pair.

"Actually we believe our performances were not so bad in those two finals, we had chances to win, but maybe our mentality was not steady enough," Huang said.

Zheng and Huang won the World Championships in 2018 and 2019, making them popular among many Chinese fans. They hope to regain their glory in the World Championships this year.

"The main task for us now is to relax and make good preparations for the upcoming World Championships," Zheng said.
