Zhejiang snaps Guangdong's 6-game winning streak

Zhejiang Golden Bulls thrashed Guangdong Southern Tigers 124-101 here on Saturday, ending the defending champion's unbeaten record in new season.

Wu Qian buried five 3-pointers for 29 points and dished out 12 assists, while 18-years-old center Yu Jiahao finished with 26 points and 16 rebounds for Zhejiang. Cheng Pengshuai added 21 points.

Guangdong opened the game with a 9-2 lead, but Zhejiang led 51-43 at halftime thanks to an 8-0 run to close out the second quarter.

Wu hit a pair of 3-pointers to extend Zhejiang's advantage to 20 points midway in the third quarter. The depleted Guangdong cut the deficit to 13 points with 4 minutes left, but that was as close as they would get.

Xu Jie scored 24 points to lead six players in double figures for Guangdong, Yi Jianlian had 10 points.

Tao Hanlin finished with 34 points and 18 rebounds in the Shandong Heroes' 106-96 victory over the Xinjiang Flying Tigers.

Shandong led by 13 points midway into the fourth before Xinjiang fought back with a 9-0 spree. Tao scored five points in a row to stretch the advantage to 9 points with 1 minute to go.

Shandong's Gao Shiyan had 21 points and 10 assist. Abudushalamu and Qi Lin scored 22 and 21 points respectively for Xinjiang, who dropped to 2-5 overall.

Also on Thursday, the Beijing Royal Fighters beat the Nanjing Monkey Kings 108-101 while the Tianjin Pioneers defeated the Fujian Sturgeons 106-87.
