The Guangzhou Loong Lions smashed the Xinjiang Flying Tigers 117-102 while the Jiangsu Dragons secured an 82-79 narrow win over the Qingdao Eagles in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Wednesday.

Without Zhou Qi, the national team center who decided to join Australian basketball club South East Melbourne Phoenix during the offseason, Xinjiang is no longer the powerhouse in the league. As one of the top four in the precious regular season, they now only rank 13th with a 3-7 record after ten rounds.

The two teams tied 26-26 in the first quarter, then the game became one-sided as Guangzhou outscored Xinjiang nine and 18 points respectively in the following two quarters to enjoy an early win.

Abudushalamu led Xinjiang with 25 points and eight rebounds, while Guangzhou's Chen Ying-Chun shone with 21 points, four rebounds and career high 17 assists.

In another game of the night, Jiangsu took an early lead over Qingdao in the first quarter by 15-2 after three consecutive three-pointers, finishing the first quarter 30-13. However, both teams suffered cold hand in the second quarter, Jiangsu scored only nine points while Qingdao had 10. The 23-point first half marked the lowest record in Qingdao's franchise history.

Qingdao finished the third quarter by 59-51, and almost turned the table with a 10-0 run in the last period. Zhao Tailong hit a crucial three-pointer to cut the deficit to 80-79, but Shi Hongfei hit two free throws to extend the lead to three for Jiangsu before Wang Qingming missed the last-second three pointer attempt.

Wu Guanxi had a game high 22 points and 14 rebounds for Jiangsu. Zhao led Qingdao with 21 points.
