Beijing 2022 updates
On Saturday, Chinese youth athletes shone at the Big Air World Cup in Steamboat, U.S., as Gu Ailing and Su Yiming claimed World Cup titles in their respective categories.
In the snowboarding big air men's category, Su put down a backside 1800 Indy grab and a frontside 1800 tail grab in his first two runs to score 85.00 and 70.25 points, respectively.
The 17-year-old became the first-ever Chinese rider to stand on the podium in either big air or slopestyle and the first rider ever to land the 1800s two ways in FIS competitions.
Gu also claimed her first freeskiing big air World Cup title to complete major international wins in all three freeskiing events, following her freeskiing slopestyle and halfpipe World Cup victories in Calgary, Canada in 2020, and slopestyle and halfpipe World Champions in Aspen, U.S. March this year.
Chinese Super League
The second stage of the 2021-22 Chinese Super League will start on Dec. 12 and officially end on Jan. 4, 2022. According to the schedule released by the Chinese Football Association, the second phase will feature 64 matches of eight rounds in 23 days.
WTT World Cup Finals
As a new International Table Tennis Federation event, the World Table Tennis (WTT) World Cup Finals will make its debut in Singapore Dec. 4 to 7, with 16 players participating in men's and women's singles, respectively.
