Santos have completed the signing of forward Ricardo Goulart on a two-year contract, the Brazilian club said on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old arrives as a free agent after parting ways with Chinese Super League club Guangzhou FC in November. He will wear the No. 10 shirt made famous by Pele during his storied career at Santos in the 1950s, 60s and 70s.

"From the very first moment I was very happy with interest shown in me by this giant club," Goulart said in a statement on Santos' official website.

"I know the history here and I'm very happy to wear the Santos shirt, especially being the number 10, which is revered all over the world. I will do everything to represent the King's number well."

Goulart scored 110 goals in 174 matches for Guangzhou after his 2015 move from Cruzeiro. He helped the club win three Chinese Super League titles and the Asian Champions League.

Traditionally one of Brazil's biggest clubs, Santos have not won a major national or international trophy since the 2011 Copa Libertadores.
