Up to 200,000 volunteers across Beijing will serve the upcoming Winter Olympics and Paralympics, municipal officials said.

They will provide information services, language services, emergency assistance, assistance to people with disabilities, and other services at 758 locations.

In addition, 1,200 volunteers from nine universities will help to guide crowds at the opening and closing ceremonies of the games.

According to municipal officials, Beijing will revise its volunteer management regulations, improve the incentive system for volunteers, and explore the establishment of a multi-faceted reward mechanism for volunteers this year, which incorporates training, medical insurance, and entertainment activities.
