Beijing 2022 updates

According to the operations team, the villages of the Beijing Winter Olympics began to receive athletes on Sunday.

Before the official opening on Thursday, the team said the villages in downtown Beijing, the capital's Yanqing district, and Hebei province's Zhangjiakou would welcome delegations that arrive in advance for warming-up.

Japan vs. China - AFC Asian Qualifiers - Road to Qatar

On Thursday, China will take on Japan in a vital World Cup qualifying clash. China is currently in fifth place in Group B of AFC Asian Qualifiers - Road to Qatar with five points from their opening six games. They are 11 points behind leaders Saudi Arabia, having won just one game since the final phase of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 preliminaries.

The Japanese have won their last three games and are second in the standings, four points behind leaders Saudi Arabia and one ahead of third-placed Australia. 

NBA Chinese New Year Game

The Brooklyn Nets will commemorate the Chinese New Year on Tuesday, Jan. 25, when the team hosts the Los Angeles Lakers at Barclays Center. 

Tuesday's game is part of the NBA's 11th Lunar New Year league-wide campaign to celebrate the most important annual holiday for the Chinese people all over the world.
