Spanish LaLiga outfit, Sevilla have signed 26-year-old French international striker Anthony Martial on loan until the end of the season from Manchester United.
Martial joins the side who are currently second in LaLiga, four points behind Real Madrid after six and a half years with the English club, which he joined from Monaco in the summer of 2015.
Sevilla confirmed the loan, which does not include a buyout option, on their official website on Tuesday evening and the player will be officially presented on Wednesday lunchtime.
The club has "closed a very important operation to strengthen their attack," commented the Spanish club, who will pay between five and six million euros for the deal, with Martial willing to take a pay cut in order to be able to move to Spain.
Although he has scored 79 goals in 269 appearances for Manchester United, Martial has only made 11 appearances in all competitions this season following the return of Cristiano Ronaldo and doesn't appear to be in the plans of United's interim coach Ralf Rangnick.
One factor behind the move is that in order to have a chance of returning to the France squad for the 2022 World Cup finals, Martial needs to be playing on a regular basis.
