Chinese Super League (CSL) side Shandong Taishan FC forward Guo Tianyu will spend the rest of the 2021/22 season on loan at Portuguese Super League club Vizela, according to a statement from the Chinese club on Thursday.

The 22-year-old signed the deal to gain valuable experience at Vizela. Guo thus became the third Chinese international currently playing for a European club after Wu Lei in Spain and Li Lei in Switzerland.

Guo made 47 appearances in all competitions for Taishan since 2017 with 15 goals and helped Taishan win the champion of the China Football Association (CFA) Cup in 2020. He scored 10 goals to lead his team to a CSL champion and CFA Cup champion in the 2021-22 season.

VizeLa, promoted to Portuguese Super League last season, ranked 13th in the standings after 19 rounds.
